Stephen Wearne signs for Grimsby Town

Congratulations to Stephen Wearne on signing for Grimsby Town as the 21 year old attacking midfielder joins the Mariners after a 2 year spell with Sunderland.

Wearne progressed through the ranks at Newcastle United and later Middlesborough before turning professional at the Riverside stadium in 2019. He made his debut for the Black Cats in the EFL Trophy against Lincoln where he scored the winner in their 2-1 win. Stephen headed on loan to Torquay on loan in January where he made 14 appearances in the National League for the Gulls.
