Ross County midfielder Paton is given a chance to make his mark for Canada

Harry Paton is looking forward to finally being able to show what he can bring to his national team. The Ross County midfielder has been named in Canada’s 23-man squad for the Gold Cup – the North American equivalent of the European Championships. He had previously played for the Canadian under-17s and under-20s, and has been on the cusp of the senior men’s squad for the last couple of years.

“It’s a proud moment for me and for my family,” the 23-year-old said. “It’s something I’ve looked forward to and have been working towards my whole life, so to finally get the call up is an amazing feeling. “I can’t wait to get the red shirt on for the Gold Cup and show everybody in Canada what I can bring to the team.

Massive honour, well done Harry!
