Jay Chapman signs for Inter Miami FC

Jay Chapman is a Canadian midfielder who played his college soccer at Michigan State before signing a Homegrown contract with Toronto FC on 15 January 2015. He made his professional debut for their USL side in March of the following season before making his Toronto FC debut in the 2015 Canadian Championships. Jay’s impressive performances during that season resulted in his inclusion in the 2016 MLS Homegrown team.

On 13 November 2019 Jay Chapman was traded to Inter Miami CF after 79 appearances for Toronto FC in exchange for $100,000 in General Allocation Money.

Jay has played the Canadian U17s at both the 2011 CONCACAF U17 Championships and also at the 2011 FIFA U17 World Cup before his progression to the Canadian U23s. This was followed by his debut for the senior side on 22 January 2017 against Bermuda where he scored in their 4-2 victory.

Good luck in Miami Jay!
