Gary shares stage with football’s biggest names
Gary Mellor, director of Beswicks Sports, has addressed a flagship international sports conference in Athens, speaking alongside some of football’s biggest names.
As a guest speaker at The Economist Sports Business Summit, Gary shared a stage with AC Milan chairman Paolo Scaroni, CEO of Benfica Domingos Soares de Oliveira, Board Member at FC Barcelona Marta Plana i Dropez, Senior Vice President of Major League Soccer Dimitrios Efstathiou and Burnley FC director Brendan Flood.
In his speech to the conference Gary shared his knowledge and experience of working with Premier League, English Football League and United Soccer League clubs, touching on the growth of the game in the United States and the importance of fan engagement. He also took part in a group discussion and question and answer session.
“It was an honour to be invited to speak at the conference alongside such esteemed guests and a real indication of Beswicks Sports’ standing as a leading global sports management company,” said Gary.
As well as being director of Beswicks Sports, Gary is a lawyer and senior partner at Stoke-on-Trent law firm Beswicks Legal.
He has extensive knowledge of the sports, media and entertainment scene, is former director of Orlando City football club and has been involved in contractual negotiations at all levels in the sporting world.
The Economist Sports Business Summit for Southeast Europe took place on Friday 20 September 2019 at the Divani Apollon Palace and Thalasso in Athens.
